When I photograph, I defy the analytical. My intention is to capture what we see, but cannot sanctify. Photography in my mind centers on my visual, auditory and sensory awareness. I am moved by subtle changes in the environment, an emotional flash in people's faces, the momentary interplay between colors and shapes and light.

My first photographs from early high school portray the woods and landscape of Southern Illinois. I began shooting black and white, learning the science and process of photography, spending hours mixing chemicals and making prints. After high school, I began assisting professional photographers, both architectural and commercial, traveling to cities far and near such as the Maldives, Mauritius, United Arab Emirates, Costa Rica, Mexico as well as domestically. It was not until I worked in Mexico with the Santa Fe Photographic Workshops, that I began to photograph people more. Though many describe me as reticent, I do not shy away from people; however, I do not believe that a good photograph needs human presence, for it is already behind the camera.

I am available for assignments all over the world.
